Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie

Palestine Technical College (PTC) – Deir El-Balah is a leading governmental college that specializes in technical university education and it was established in 1993. Currently there are more than 1800 student enrolled in the college in 20 diploma programs and 7 B.Sc. programs. The main college campus is located at the city of Deir El-Balah in Gaza strip and it serves students from all over the Gaza Strip due to its central location in the strip. Recently, the college has opened a new branch campus in the north of Gaza City to realize its expansion plans. In the academic year 2018/2019, PTC employs around 220 full time employees of which 130 are academic staff and most of them hold either PhD or master degrees. Around 60% of newly enrolled students are females. The annual increment in enrollment is around 20%; however, due to the new branch opening, it is expected that the statistics of students and staff will grow rapidly in the coming years.

Dr. Ezzaldeen Edwan

Dr. Ezzaldeen Edwan is an assistant professor and head of scientific research department at Palestine Technical College. He received the B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from Birzeit University, Palestine in 1997 and the M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from Oklahoma State University, OK, USA in 2003 and the doctoral degree in electrical engineering in 2013 from the University of Siegen, Germany. His main research interests are sensors, inertial navigation systems, control systems, mobile robotics, sensor fusion and applied estimation theory. 

He has an experience in the academic field lecturing for electrical and computer engineering courses and in research through participating in different European research projects. He is a recipient of the Fulbright and the DAAD scholarships, respectively. He authored and co-authored more than 40 scientific papers in well-known journals and international conferences. Moreover, he participated in several European Erasmus+ projects as a coordinating partner e.g., MS@CPS and EDU4ALL projects. He is the founder of the IEEE International Conference on Promising Electronic Technologies Conference (ICPET) from 2017 – 2020.

Badran Awad


Badran Awad, is a lecturer of Computer Science at Palestine Technical College – Deir El- Balah, he has been a member of teaching staff at Computer Department since 2015. He is the head of Quality and Academic Accreditation Department. Awad completed his MSc. Degree at the Islamic University of Gaza. He delivers lectures in the area of programming languages and information security.

Hussam F. Abushawish


Hussam F. Abushawish is an assistant professor of educational leadership and management at Palestine Technical College- Deir El-Balah. His teaching and research contributions have been in the areas of leadership and management, education, higher education, and business administration. He also served as the deputy dean for academic affairs at Palestine Technical College – Deir El-Balah for nearly 9 years, since 2004.

Dr. Mohamed Elnaggar


Dr. Mohamed Elnaggar is an assistant Professor of engineering at Palestine Technical College. His research interests include mechanics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, renewable energy, solar cooling, energy management and heat pipes. He received the B.Sc. degree in mechanical engineering from Istanbul Technical University, Istanbul, Turkey, the M.Sc. degree from Marmara University, Istanbul, and the Ph.D. degree from the Universiti Sains Malaysia, Malaysia. He has published about 30 scientific papers and book chapters in reputed international journals and conferences.

Aisha Ahmad El-Kurd


Aisha Ahmad El-Kurd is a hardworking, team playing, creative lecturer, always-seeking knowledge and improvement. She is working as a typing trainer and a lecturer in Administration Program at Palestine Technical College – Deir El-Balah, teaching typing and business correspondence. She received a diploma in Business and Office Practice from Gaza Training Center, Palestine in 2009 and earned a Bachelor degree in English from Al-Aqsa University in 2011. In 2015, she obtained a Master degree in Business Administration from the Islamic University of Gaza, Palestine. In 2019, she gained another Bachelor degree in Business Administration from Al Quds Open University. Learning is her passion, teaching any new knowledge I gain is her hobby.

Ahmed Z. Alassar


Ahmed Alassar received a B.Sc. in communication and electronics engineering from the MUST University, Egypt in 2003, and M.S. degree in control engineering from the IUG, Palestine. From 2005 until 2018, Ahmed worked as an instructor in the electronics department in DBISS, and currently, he is working as a lecturer at Palestine Technical College – Deir El-Balah, Palestine. As a part of his work, he has practical experience in the field of electrical engineering.
