Celebration of International Day of the Persons with Disability at the UJ
Celebrating the International Day for Persons with Disabilities

The University of Jordan celebrated the International Day for Persons with Disabilities on December, 23rd 2021 under the patronage of his highness prince Mired bin Ra’ad bin Zaid. The School of Rehabilitation Sciences organized this event. Many students with disabilities studying at the UJ attended the activity. Representatives of several unions and organizations of persons with disability participated in the event. Jordanian higher council for the rights of the persons with disabilities also participated in the activity. Dr. Ziad Hawamdeh, the dean of the school of Rehabilitation Sciences, opened the event, introducing services and facilities provided by the UJ to engage students with disabilities in higher education. He highlighted the participation of University of Jordan in Edu4ALL, an Erasmus+ project, to offer cutting edge assistive technologies to the students with disabilities. Dr. Alia Alghwiri, the vice dean of the School of Rehabilitation Sciences, and Edu4ALL team member, actively participated in this event. She appreciated the role of the EU union in supporting Edu4ALL and all similar projects that promote inclusive education.
